How to Check a Car Detailer in Singapore Before You Book

Detailing, grooming and fumigation are hard to judge until the job is done. These five checks help you choose before you hand over your keys, using what real customers and the business itself have put in public.

Short answer: Before you book a car detailer, check five things: the name and mobile number match its Google Business Profile, customers describe jobs like yours in their reviews, the business posts its own real job photos, the price is stated before the day, and it tells you how long the job takes. A detailer who passes all five is easy to hold to what it promised.

Why Detailing Is Harder to Judge Than a Repair

When a workshop fixes a fault, the warning light goes off. Detailing is different. A cockroach problem, a stubborn smell or pet hair in the carpet can look solved on the day and come back a week later. Many detailers in Singapore, Cleanic included, are mobile and have no shopfront you can walk past.

That means the best evidence is what other car owners say after the job, and what the detailer shows of its own work. Here is how to read both.

1. Does the Name and Number Match the Google Profile?

Search the business on Google Maps. The name on its Google Business Profile should match the name on its website and WhatsApp, and so should the mobile number. A mismatch is not always a bad sign, but it is worth asking about. A number that matches means your message reaches the people who will do the job.

2. What Do Customers Say About Jobs Like Yours?

Stars tell you how happy people were. The words tell you what was done. Look for reviews that name the problem you have, such as a smell, bugs, a spill or mould, and say whether it stayed fixed. Three detailed reviews about your kind of job are worth more than thirty one-line ones.

  • Useful: which car, which problem, how long it took, whether it came back
  • Less useful: “good service” with no detail
  • Worth asking about: repeated comments on lateness or a different price on the day

3. Does the Detailer Post Its Own Real Jobs?

A business that does the work usually has photos of it: the car, the problem, the result. Real job posts on the detailer’s own website or social pages are harder to fake than a stock photo of a shiny car. Our own guides use real Cleanic photos, such as the steam cleaning shot above.

4. Is the Price Clear Before the Day?

Ask for the price in writing on WhatsApp before you book, and what it includes. Cleanic states its prices on its pages: the MIRAKN Express is $118, and the full MIRAKN dry gas fumigation starts from $180. Our car grooming price guide lists the rest.

5. Does It Tell You How Long It Takes?

A detailer who knows the job can tell you roughly how long your car will be out of use. At Cleanic the MIRAKN Express takes about 1 hour and the full MIRAKN fumigation about 1.5 hours. If a detailer cannot give you any idea, ask why.

A Shortcut: Directories Built on Real Customer Voices

Doing these checks for every detailer takes time. That is the gap SG Car Workshop is trying to close. It is a Singapore directory of car workshops and car services, including detailing, and it is built on the same evidence you would check yourself.

  • Names and mobile numbers come from each business’s Google Business Profile, so what you see matches what the business itself put on Google
  • Listings say what customers mention in their Google reviews, in the directory’s own words, without copying review text or guessing
  • Job stories appear only when the business posted them itself, and none are invented
  • An AI reads what you type, such as “cockroach in car Toyota Sienta Tampines”, and picks out the service, car and area
  • No paid rankings: paid listings are labelled Featured and kept out of any ranking

Its aim is to become the most useful car directory in Singapore by listening to drivers rather than advertisers. You can browse the car detailing and coating listings on SG Car Workshop and compare them with the checks above.

To be open about it: Cleanic has a Featured (paid) listing in that directory, and both this website and the directory are run by Page One Singapore. Use the directory as a starting point, then check any detailer, including us, the same way.

What to Send Before You Book

Whoever you choose, a short WhatsApp message saves time on both sides: your car model, what you have noticed and since when, where the car is parked, and a photo if you can. With that, a good detailer can tell you which treatment fits and what it costs before the day. For bugs or smells, start with our car fumigation service page.

FAQs

What should I check before booking a car detailer in Singapore?

Check that the name and mobile number match the business’s Google Business Profile, read what customers say about specific jobs, look for real job photos the detailer posted, and ask for the price and time before the day.

Are star ratings enough to choose a detailer?

Not on their own. A rating tells you how happy people were, but the review text tells you what was done: which car, which problem and whether it came back. Look for comments about jobs like yours.

How long does car fumigation take at Cleanic?

The MIRAKN Express takes about 1 hour and the full MIRAKN dry gas fumigation about 1.5 hours. Colin confirms the time for your car before the appointment.

Is Cleanic listed on SG Car Workshop?

Yes, Cleanic Detailing has a Featured (paid) listing there. The directory and this website are both run by Page One Singapore.
